πŸ’₯ Are meal plans pointless? πŸ’₯. . πŸ’ͺ🏻 Now this quote is a little tongue in cheek, but the subject is an interesting one and worth debating. One of the standard products you can by from online coaches is a meal plan. Often just a one day meal plan with macros calculated and calorie targets set. You get an example day of meals for you to follow. . ⏰ I’ll be the first to admit that I used to sell one day meal plans when I first started out. But my thinking on them has changed. Let me explain… . πŸ‹️‍♀️A one day meal plan helps you understand your macros and helps you understand how to structure your meals. But unless you intend to eat the same thing for the rest of your life, then the plan has a shelf-life. So what do you do at the point? Buy another? And when you get bored of that one do you buy another? . 🐡 In my mind, the biggest value comes from learning about good nutrition and learning how to manage your diet for the long term. And that won’t happen from a one-off meal plan. . 🍰 So with my coaching clients my focus is on passing on the knowledge as quickly as possible. That might sound counter-intuitive because I’m effectively teaching people to live without me. But to me that’s providing the most value to you, which is THE most important thing! . πŸ¦„ I still use meal plans at the start of working with clients to help with that initial understanding, but I create 4-5.
